For those who've made tracks up to the cottage or you live in cottage country all year long the Victoria Day May 24 weekend is always charged with excitement. I was hoping to find quite a few fireworks venues for you to consider but have only managed to turn up a couple of ideas.
With both weather and budget being a factor to having a successful event perhaps not many wish to take on the task. So, you could attend one of the following events or buy your own fireworks and have a display of your own!
Fireworks
The Village at Blue Mountain
There are activities planned all May long weekend up at Blue Mountain with music, hiking, scavenger hunts, face painting, Rusty’s Rib Eating contest and yes, there will be fireworks...tonite at 9:30ish!!
Port McNichol
Portorama is a weekend long festival on the waters of Georgian Bay. Boats will be launching for the first time in 2010 and fireworks finale on Saturday, May 22!! ...tonite too!!

Easter Weekend 2010 in Cottage Country
The long weekend is fast approaching... Friday, April 2nd 2010 is Good Friday followed by Easter Sunday on April 4th and Easter Monday on April 5th, 2010.
The weatherman (and I) say... Easter Weekend
is going to be amazingly beautiful with mainly sunny skies
and temperatures reaching past the high
teens, possibly into the mid twenties!
Gather with family and friends this Easter long weekend and share smiles, chocolate and lots of eggs(love, hugs and kisses too). If you're so inclined, host an Easter party! Check out my Spring Fling party ideas and arrange some of the fun activities like egg decorating, easter egg hunts, face painting, skipping games, chalk art and yard work ;)
Or... enjoy fun and frolic away from home by attending a free to low cost family oriented Easter event. Numerous locations throughout cottage country are celebrating in 2010. If I may suggest, bring your own Easter baskets and try not to be late. Eggs disappear rather quickly, even faster if you have no place to put them! Do call ahead, if you have any questions.
